Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was not against capitalism, but 'crony' capitalism.
"A very small section of industrialists are looting the country. I am not against capitalism, only crony capitalism," said Kejriwal, while addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry or CII on 'AAPonomics.
"Businessmen are being driven away, such are the policies of the government, and they always live in fear, as they are constantly under the threat of being harassed, and persecuted by the police. Anybody can threaten them. Businessmen are always viewed with suspicion, as if they've committed a theft," he said.
"We need to create an environment which encourages businessmen, not discourages them.
License and inspector raj has to end, and so does this extortion business. Delhi's traders have always lived in the fear of VAT," he added.
