The No.1 ranked T20 batsman, Aaron Finch, has been named Australia's Twenty20 team captain.
Finch's promotion comes after George Bailey stepped down from his role as the Twenty20 team captain, the BBC reports.
Finch said that having the honour to captain one's country in any form of the game is something that all young cricketers dream about.
Australia national selector Rod Marsh said Aaron had gained quality leadership experience through his role as captain of the Melbourne Renegades and the Pune Warriors.
Finch will play his first game as captain against Pakistan on 5 October in Dubai.
