American football player Aaron Hernandez has reportedly pleaded not guilty to two counts of first degree murder, which alleged that he shot and killed two men in 2012 after an encounter at a Boston nightclub.
The former New England Patriot tight end, who also faces charges in the 2013 slaying of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd, has been accused of following Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado from a nightclub in an SUV and then shooting them.
According to the Washington Post, Hernandez's legal team, however, will now have to switch their attention back to the Lloyd slaying, which is expected to be the first of Hernandez's cases to go to trial.
Hernandez was dropped from the Patriots - and his 40 million-dollar contract - shortly after his arrest in June.
