Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has reportedly said that he totally "opposes" Arab Nations joining the western coalition to conduct air strikes targetting the Islamic State (IS) in his country.

He said that the western powers had filled in many gaps in Iraq's fight against the militant group, reported the BBC.

Several Arab states, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan, have joined the international coalition to curb and destroy the IS.

Their aircrafts have carried out strikes in Syria, but only those from the United States, United Kingdom and France have hit targets in Iraq.
