Commenting on NHRC's direction to Delhi police to take action against former Delhi Law Minster Somnath Bharti, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said it was a correct decision as the whole country knew about the inappropriate and unjust actions taken by Bharti in the midnight raid conducted by him.
"Action should definitely be taken against him and the NHRC has taken a good decision as at that time, the whole country saw what he did, and in what ways he and his party leaders (AAP) tried to justify his actions," said Naqvi.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today directed the Delhi Police to take action against Bharti for leading a midnight raid at the residence of African nationals in New Delhi's Khirki Extension.
Activist-lawyer Shehzad Poonawala had petitioned against AAP leader Bharti in connection with the case.
A judicial probe had already indicted former Delhi law minister for his action.
