Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday pitched for development in the state, while saying that good governance would only be ensured if each person got the benefit of the state and the Central Government's schemes.

"We have achieved our goal of bringing a change in the Uttar Pradesh by following the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and working under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah. After this change, now it's time for development and good governance in the state. Development and good governance will come only when each person gets the benefit of the State and Central Government's plan," Adityanath said at a rally here.

Recounting the achievements of the Central Government and asserting that Uttar Pradesh Government would follow the footsteps, Adityanath said that for the first time such government has come in power which, without any discrimination, is working for poor, villagers, farmers, youth and women safety.

Asserting that his government was making an effort to ensure law and order in the state, he said his dispensation would not endorse any kind of discrimination in the democracy.

"To ensure an atmosphere of safety in the state, we will uproot the mafia culture and will also ensure women safety. We will act strictly against the eve teasers. Our anti-Romeo squad is an example of this," he added.

Lauding Prime Minister Modi, Adityanath said the former was against the VIP culture and has always said that 'it would be a mockery of democracy if we divide the society into VIP and common people.'

Reiterating the claim of providing round the clock electricity in rural areas, he said, "The State Government has also ensured equal distribution of electricity in all the districts in the state. We have put an end to unequal distribution of power. We will provide electricity for 24 hours in the rural areas and our efforts are on to ensure this.".

Adityanath, who is known for his firebrand personality, is working completely in contrast with his image ever since he took over as the Chief Minister of the political crucial state.

Following his appointment, the Chief Minsiter has launched various schemes that not only hit the headlines, but also silenced his critics.
