Afghanistan has reportedly blamed Haqqani Network and Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) for the attack on Kabul airport.

According to The Nation, Interior ministry spokesman, Sediq Sediqi said that the attack on Kabul airport was either plotted by Haqqani Network or the Pakistani Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI).

He alleged that the attack on the Afghanistan airport was carried out in retaliation to the assault on Karachi airport as Pakistan suspected Afghanistan's role in the attack on one of its main airports.

He also said that the Haqqani Network, Taliban group and Pakistan's ISI have been plotting the attack on the Afghanistan airport since a long time.

Interior ministry officials confirmed that all the five terrorists, who had launched an attack on Kabul airport from an under construction building located close to the airport, were killed during the fire exchange with the Afghan security forces and no damages were incurred to airport.

The report further quoted officials as saying that the assailant militants were of Pakistani origin as they were speaking in Urdu language.
