An imam of a mosque run by civil aviation authorities in Dhaka has been arrested after being found with 18 gold bars and 18,240 US dollars at the city's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Aslam Sheikh is the imam of the Civil Aviation Tower Mosque, and was arrested after disembarking from a Turkey Airways flight that landed in Dhaka from Kairo at about 4.45 a.m. local time, reports the Daily Star.
The gold bars weigh 1.8 kilograms and he brought the gold bars illegally from Egypt.
