A convoy reportedly carrying friendly foreign forces were attacked in Kandhar province on Sunday.
The attack took place at Kandahar province's Daman district.
Tolo news reported that previously, the troops targeted were a part of Kandahar airport's security team.
At least two civilians were wounded in the incident, Tolo news further reported.
As of now it is being suspected there are possible casualties among the foreign troops.
On March 10 in two separate military operations, Afghan forces gunned down a total of 16 insurgents in Helmand and Jowzjan province which included six Islamic State militants, including two Uzbekistan citizens.
