Former Pakistan fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board should turn its focus on strengthening the national team instead of trying to stabilize cricket ties with India by running after the BCCI.
According to The Express Tribune, Akhtar said this in the wake of the Faisalabad Wolves being denied visas by the Indian government for the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.
He said that he was not surprised that the Indians had not issued to the Faisalabad Wolves team for the Champions League because friendly relations at a government-to- government level were not there.
The former speedster added that he has always said that they do not need to run after India all the time and need to stop begging.
Akhtar further stated that it was time for the PCB to work on the country's domestic cricket and infrastructure, the report said.
He said that the standard of cricket had not only gone down in Pakistan but even worldwide and that the nation was facing problems because it did not have a bold captain such as Imran Khan for years.
