The leader of al-Qaida's Syria Affiliate Nusra Front has threatened that his group will resort to all possible means to defend against US-led airstrikes.

Nusra Front leader Abu Mohammed al-Golani also warned that Western countries that were a part of the alliance would soon find themselves in the middle of the conflict on their own soils.

In a 25-minute audio recording, al-Golani portrayed the US-led coalition as a "Crusader alliance" against Sunni Muslims and vowed to fight back, the Huffington Post reports.

He said that the group would use all possible means to defend the people of Syria from the Crusader alliance.

The extremist group leader said that the price of the war would not be paid by the leaders alone, adding the citizens of nations participating in the war would be paying the biggest price.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced that the global coalition airstrikes led by the United States had hit Islamic state targets near the captured Syrian town of Kobane on the border with Turkey.

US Central Command said that an IS building and two armed vehicles were destroyed in the airstrike.

Other strikes have hit IS targets in places in Syria and northern Iraq.

Kurdish fighters have been protecting Kobane from the IS militants.

Almost 1,40,000 civilians have fled from the Kobane town and surrounding area of Turkey.
