Spanish golfer Alejandro Canizares has grabbed the lead after the third round of the Trophee Hasan II on Saturday with a three under par 69 for a 17 under par total of 199, to close in on his first European title since 2006.
The Spaniard, who held a one-stroke lead from England's Seve Benson overnight at the Golf du Palais Royal, Morocco, pulled six shots clear of the chasing pack, which also included Robert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands and Sweden's Magnus Carlsson.
According to Sport24, Benson carded a 74 to lie second, one shot clear of Jan Derksen with Carlsson in a five-way tie for third, two shots further away.
Canizares' last win came in the Russian Open while Benson is seeking his debut European Tour title, the report added.
