Alicia Silverstone is urging mothers to share their milk through a new program.
She announced the programme 'Kind Mama Milk Share' on her blog and described it as a community service to support those mothers and babies who need help, the New York Daily News reported.
The 36-year-old urged the women to post on the blog if they need or want to share milk.
She also advised them to think about all the unprivileged babies and help them to rise together.
The 'Vamps' star wrote that a friend, who couldn't produce enough milk because of a prior breast reduction surgery, inspired her to come up with such a programme.
The actress further wrote that her friend tried to reach out in her community for donor milk, but it was almost impossible to figure out what kind of lifestyle choices the donors had made.
New moms and Silverstone's fans have appreciated the move.
