Alok Kumar Pateria appointed as ADG, CISF

Alok Kumar Pateria has been appointed as the new additional director general (ADG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

The appointments committee of the Union Cabinet on Monday approved the appointment of Pateria as the CISF ADG on deputation basis for a period up to May 31, 2020 - day of his superannuation from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pateria is a 1986 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Earlier in the day, the Centre appointed Dineshwar Sharma, former director of the Intelligence Bureau, as the representative of the Government of India in Jammu and Kashmir. He will initiate and carry forward a dialogue with the elected representatives, various organisations and concerned individuals in the valley.
