American electronic commerce and cloud computing company Amazon.com Inc has begun surveying the UK customers about their use of restaurant delivery services in a bid to expand its business.
The online retailer asked its customers about the frequency and cost of food orders and also whether they used companies such as Just Eat, Hungry House and Deliveroo, which deliver prepared food such as pizza, sushi and kebabs, Reuters reported.
An Amazon spokesman, however, declined to comment on the survey done by the company.
"Canvassing customers about the restaurant delivery market would be a logical step toward expanding the business. These stealth tactics have been used carefully in the United States to do similar and launch successfully and the U.K. is often used as the first international market," said Neil Campling , senior analyst at Aviate Global.
