At Mobile World Congress, Amdocs, a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies, launched its Autonomous Service Assurance solution, the industry's first offering to accelerate a service provider's evolution from the manual network-centric operations of today to the fully autonomous service-driven operations of the future.
Autonomous Service Assurance delivers business value for current networks and services and prepares service providers for the software defined and virtualized networks and services of tomorrow.
"Service providers are looking for ways to deliver a superior digital experience for sophisticated services delivered over complex networks," said Anil Rao, Principal Analyst, Analysys Mason. "Answering this challenge requires operational and assurance systems to be evolved to meet customer demands in real time. Amdocs, with its Autonomous Service Assurance solution, is uniquely positioned to answer this challenge. It includes some of the most important capabilities needed to incrementally evolve operations from the manual approaches used today to the autonomous approach that will be needed in the future."
Amdocs Autonomous Service Assurance is a first-of-its-kind solution. It designs how the service will be assured upfront at the time the service is launched. It starts assuring the service, natively, at the same instant the service is activated. It learns each and every time an event happens. And it proactively drives the network to keep the service operating to customer and service level agreement (SLA) expectations.
Autonomous Service Assurance delivers advanced software products from Amdocs and its Open Network Ecosystem with a DevOps approach to automation. It incrementally transforms the assurance technology and processes of a service provider by increasing autonomy each time a service impacting event happens. This elevates the operations team from a reactive operations team to a proactive devops team who are actively engaged in the design and improvement of assurance and operations policies and processes.
"Network operations cannot move from the manual assurance of today to autonomous assurance overnight. Yet, it is a journey that must be started now if a service provider is to be ready for network function virtualization," said Angela Logothetis, vice president and CTO of Amdocs Open Network. "Autonomous Service Assurance is a modular platform. It offers multiple entry points and multiple paths to service assurance autonomy. It changes the assurance paradigm from network-centric to service-centric, from reactive to proactive, from predefined to learning, from manual to autonomous. It delivers business benefits today and the benefits increase as the network becomes open and software driven.
