Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah, who visited the migration camp in Jammu and Kashmir's R S Pura Sector on Monday, said he has been assured by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that India will give befitting reply to Pakistan in wake of the ongoing ceasefire violations from the other side of the border.
"Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured me that a befitting reply will be given to Pakistan for firing on the Indian border areas," he said after meeting the local residents, who have suffered due to the continued shelling on the border villages by Islamabad.

Addressing the people here, Shah said the Centre is sensitive towards the problems faced by the people residing in border areas and will work towards solving them in a time bound manner.
"The party is aware of the problems of the people, who migrated during 1947, 1965 and 1971, the issue of their voting rights, matter of compensation to those who lost their lands due to border fencing and people whose lives have been affected by continued shelling by Pakistan," said Shah.
"We are sensitive towards these issues. I assure you that the Central Government will work towards addressing all these problems in a time bound manner," he added.
Shah further said the issue of voting rights of the migrated people rests with the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Shah, who is meeting the party workers here to consolidate and strengthen the BJP's position in the state, also took potshots at the Omar Abdullah government.
He said that the days of Omar Abdullah-led government are numbered and there will soon be a BJP government in the state.
