Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah took part in the 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' here on Thursday.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wielded the broom to promote the Clean India mission and invited nine more nominees to take part in the campaign.

Comedian Kapil Sharma, activist Kiran Bedi and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly were among those nominated.

He also appealed to the 'Dabba walas' in Mumbai and the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to take part in the mission.

The Prime Minister was on a visit to Varanasi today to observe 'Good Governance Day' on the birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
