'Creed' has been recently crowned as the best film of 2015 by the Black Film Critics Circle (BFCC).
The seventh movie in the 'Rocky' franchise that sees Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Rocky Balboa was announced as the winner by BFCC co-president Mike Sargent, reports News24.com.
The movie also picked up acting awards, with Michael B. Jordan winning Best Actor, Stallone picking up Best Supporting Actor and Tessa Thompson winning Best Supporting Actress.
Meanwhile, 'Straight Outta Compton' won the awards in the Best Screenwriting in an Original Screenplay and Best Ensemble Performance categories.
Other winners included Brie Larson, who took home Best Actress for 'Room,' 'Inside Out' for Best Animated Feature and 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' which won Best Cinematography and Best Directing for George Miller.
