South Korean spirit Soju has been named the world's most popular booze by Drinks International's annual list of best-selling global spirits.

Jinro Soju has sold 65 million nine-litre cases in 2013 which is three times more than Smirnoff, the Guardian reported.

Its profile was also raised by 'Gangnam Style' hitmaker Psy who said that the drink was his "best friend" and who has appeared for its various ad campaigns.
