Animation sequel 'Cloudy' tops weekend box office with $35M earnings

Animated Sony sequel, 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2' took the top place at the US weekend box office with earnings of 35 million dollars, according to studio estimates.

The movie, which features the voices of Bill Hader and Anna Faris, knocked off Hugh Jackman starrer 'Prisoners' to the second spot, while Universal's Formula One tale 'Rush' drove into the third position with 10.3 million dollars worth of earnings, Fox News reported.

The fourth place was bagged by 'Baggage Claim' with 9.3 million dollars, while 'Don Jon' debuted at number five 5 with 9 million dollars.
