Apple confirms devices, website 'safe' from Heartbleed bug

Apple has confirmed that their mobiles, desktop, and Web services are safe from the infamous Heartbleed bug, which has been attacking the internet.

Heartbleed is a software bug, which allows the attacker to access the host computer, and retrieve private information like user-names and passwords, Cnet reports.

A spokesperson of Apple insisted that the company takes security very seriously, adding that iOS and OS X never included the vulnerable software.

Heartbleed has the capability to potentially expose people's usernames and passwords on sites like Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Pinterest, the report added.
