Apple is reportedly employing HTC engineers in a bid to create and release products more quickly and more frequently.
Apple is said to be adding hundreds of engineers and supply-chain managers in China and Taiwan.
According to the Verge, it is however not clear how many employees Apple has hired, but the move could create another hurdle for HTC, as the company is already facing financial downturn while struggling against larger smartphone makers.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple needs the additional engineers to facilitate work on iPhone and iPad parts with its suppliers in the region.
Previous reports have suggested that Apple is planning to soon release two iPhones with larger displays, and the company may need more talent if it wants to have both of those ready for the fall, the report added.
