Apple announced its wireless charging mat called AirPower last year. However, even after a full year, the hardware has not hit the market and Apple apparently wants to get rid of the mention of it for good.
The company has removed almost all references to AirPower from its official website, Cnet reported. The only hint at the AirPower remains in the form of an image on the Apple AirPods page.
Apple AirPower is a charging pad which was supposed to release in 2018. Interestingly, at the recently concluded iPhone event, the company skipped providing updates on the availability of the hardware.
Some reports indicate that the AirPower's multi-coil charging design is causing the device to get too hot to function, while others indicate that the chip inside has issues communicating with the Apple products for charging, causing the delay.
