Arctic Monkeys are leading the NME Awards 2014 with eight nominations, including the best British band, best live band, best album, best track and best music video.
American rock band Haim have received six nominations, while Queens of the Stone Age, Lily Allen and Arcade Fire have received three nominations each, Independent reported.
Russell Brand, David Cameron, Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus are among those contesting for the title of 'Villain of the Year', and David Bowie has been nominated for 'Hero of the Year' and 'Best Solo Artist'.
