Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, Niraj Kumar today convened a meeting to review arrangements for Republic Day celebration.
A detailed discussion was held on various issues regarding seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, deployment of buses, PAS, fire-tenders among others.
It was informed in the meeting that celebration of republic day will begin with playing of Shehnai at designated places by the Information Department which will be followed by flag hoisting by chief guest at Government Degree College for Boys, Udhampur.
Different committees like reception committee, illumination committee and cultural programme committee were also constituted for the successful celebration of the national function.
During the meeting, focus was also laid on organizing cultural programmes based on issues having social importance like 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', 'Swachh Bharat'.
The DC stressed upon officers of various departments to participate in national function with great zeal and enthusiasm and asked them to work in close coordination to make the National function a grand success.
SSP Dr. Shailendra Kumar Mishra, ADDC Arvind Sharma, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, Chief Education Officer Bishan Singh, CEO MC Santosh Kotwal, Principals of Government Colleges DYSSO besides various district officers and prominent citizens attended the meeting.
