BJP leader and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday said the arrest of five FTII students was not a solution to ending the over two- month long agitation.

"These kids need understanding, sympathy and respect for their family" said Sinha.

"I think this is not right "Our government should present a strong stand with a positive outlook, so that this 60 day never ending strike comes to an end."

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused the centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of treating the FTII students as criminals.

Rahul said "Our students are not criminals Modi ji."

"Silence. Suspend. Arrest: Modi Mantra for Ache Din," the Office of Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet.
