Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has extended his winning run over his Arsenal rival Arsene Wenger with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wenger's side, which knocked them out of the Capital One Cup at their home ground Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
The result saw Arsenal, whose boss Wenger made eight changes to the side that starred in last Saturday's win over Crystal Palace, fail to reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since 2002.
According to Sky Sports, although the hosts won a string of early corners as they enjoyed the best of the possession, however, Chelsea took the lead on 25 minutes courtesy of goals either side of half-time from Cesar Azpilicueta and Juan Mata.
Wenger has failed to get the better of Mourinho in nine meetings this season following Chelsea's win, the report added.
