The sensitive border state of Arunachal Pradesh inhabited by culturally rich hospitable tribals would be focused in right perspective globally with the launch of North East Live, the first 24X7 satellite news channel from the state on September 30 next, said Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.

After inspecting the preparation of the stage at Indira Gandhi Park today for the launch, Tuki said this is first of its type event in the state and would bridge the communication gap by speedily feeding the happenings of this land-locked hilly state.

Extending his hearty congratulation to the North East Live team, Tuki assured all possible cooperation of his government for the channel to grow.

Tuki accompanied with his principal adviser T N Norbu, Chief Secretary Harikrishna, education commissioner C B Kumar and tourism secretary Sonam Chombey, interacted with CMD Takam Moni and organizing committee members Lika Taji, Kipa Kaha and R N Lalum, expressed his happiness at the preparations.

He inquired the minute details of the launching programme which would witness the participation of union ministers, half a dozen MPs, besides the 'Who's Who' of the state and a battery of media persons.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister is likely to lay foundation stone of construction of a highway, as well as take part in inauguration of North East Live.

It may be mentioned here that an AIDS awareness campaign, a collaborative programme of APSACS and NACO, is scheduled to be conducted at the same venue on October 3.

Itanagar will also witness Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, who is expected to show up at the same venue on October 4, as curtain raiser for India's second edition of International Tourism Mart (ITM) to be organized by the Union Tourism Ministry at Tawang from October 18 to 20.

It would be for the first time that a national or global level reigning beauty queen would be visiting the state.
