In a major upset, ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth crashed out of the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games after losing to Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong in the opening round of the Badminton Men's Singles event on Friday.
The 25-year-old suffered a 21-23, 19-21 straight-sets defeat in a match that lasted 40 minutes.
India are now left with only one medal probable HS Prannoy in Men's Singles Badminton event who will play his opening match, later in the day.
In squash, India's Dipika Pallikal assured a medal for the country as she defeated Japan's Misaki Kobayashi 3-0 to enter the semi-final of the Women's Singles event.
In Men's Singles squash event, Saurav Ghosal edged past his Indian counterpart Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu 3-1 to advance to the semi-final round.
India's total medal tally at the Asian Games stands at 24 with six gold, five silver and thirteen bronze.
