At least 18 suspected militants were killed as Pakistani fighter jets pounded seven militant hideouts in the Khyber and North Waziristan tribal regions.
According to the Dawn, sources in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the strikes were carried out in the Kokikhel area of Tirah Valley in Khyber and in the North Waziristan tribal area.
The strikes were a part of the ongoing military operation Zarb-i-Azb in the North Waziristan tribal region.
Operation Zarb-i-Azb was launched on June 15 against local and foreign militants in North Waziristan on the directions of the Pakistan government.
Since the launch of the operation, nearly a million people have fled the offensive in North Waziristan.
