At least four Afghan soldiers have been killed in a blast on a mini bus in the capital city of Kabul.

According to ABC News, General Mohammad Zahir Azmi, spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense said that the blast occurred on Tuesday morning while army soldiers were heading towards the ministry in Kabul.

Azmi said that the bomb was detonated by remote control killing six other soldiers and six civilians.

A Taliban spokesman has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter.

Taliban insurgents are launching more attacks against both Afghan and NATO security forces. Most international security forces are preparing to withdraw by the end of 2014.
