Spanish striker David Villa will join Atletico Madrid in the next season after Barcelona agreed a deal with their La Liga rivals to sell the player for a bargain 4.4 million pounds.
According to The Sun, Atletico beat Spurs in the race to sign the striker with the club reaching an agreement with Barcelona in principle for the transfer of the player to the Madrid club.
Meanwhile, the club added in a statement on Twitter that the signing of Villa would be formalized after the player would take a medical.
The report said that one of Villa's first official games for his new club could be against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup next month.
