Audi India announced the launch of the Audi A6 Matrix priced at Rs 49.50 lakhs (Ex Showroom Delhi), the car was launched via a WhatsApp video which Audi sent out to the press.
The 2.48 second video shows Audi India head Joe King with the new car. He talks about its features like the new Matrix headlamps.
"Just when you thought we had reached the pinnacle, in Audi tradition we pushed it a little bit further. With the new Audi A6, we have reached the next chapter in our story," said King.
He also mentioned that the car will be manufactured in India and will boast of a 2.0 TDI engine with a Stronic transmission and Audi Select Drive. The car will also come with eight airbags for safety. Two of these are dedicated for rear passengers only.
Further, he said that that the tail-lamps also get split LEDs like the headlights while the other rear detail is a new chrome strip on the boot tip. The A6 will have flatter and wider exhaust tips.
He added that there are a new power retractable eight inch monitor and a new navigation system. It is now based on a new technology platform that uses the fast Tegra 30 graphics chip from Audi's partner Nvidia. The module also includes a LTE port, which will offer online services to the user including support from apps. The car will come with Audi's all-wheel-drive Quattro drive-train as standard.
The refreshed A6 expected to take on the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Jaguar XF. Price wise, the A6 is little costlier than its earlier version.
