Carmaker Audi has reportedly incorporated what can be called as a 'panic buzzer' if the driver of the self-driving car dozes off.

At the ongoing CES 2014 in Las Vegas, Audi demonstrated several high-tech car demos including a tested system that feeds upcoming traffic light data directly into the cockpit.

According to The Verge, the traffic data system indicates when the next light on the road is indicated in green with a suggested speed next to it prompts if the driver can make the light with the current speed.

The system also indicates how many more seconds one has got before a red light changes back to green and automatically fires up a start-stop engine with five seconds left on the red.

However, the most interesting tech is that of Audi's traffic jam assistant that takes on the car when one is in slow traffic on the highway and literally freaks out if the driver falls asleep while the car is self-driving.

During a demonstration, after running the car through few normal tests, the driver closed his eyes and in ten seconds, a loud buzzer rang through the cabin to get his attention and when that didn't work, the car automatically stopped itself in the middle of the highway and turned on its emergency signal.
