Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj here on Friday.
The Australian Prime Minister, who is on a two day tour of India, received a Guard of Honour at the President House earlier today. He also paid a tribute at the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' in New Delhi.
Abbott, whose visit is the first accorded the status of a State Visit since Prime Minister Narendra Modi was elected, hopes to sign a nuclear cooperation agreement between the two countries, enabling uranium sales by Australia to India.
He first arrived in Mumbai and later reached New Delhi yesterday, and is scheduled to hold high level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
He will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari today.
