A pub's Valentine Night has been cancelled after its "Bag A Slag, Grab A Hag" promotion sparked outrage.

Feminists complained that the "alternative" speed-dating event at the Old Angel pub in Nottingham was degrading and dangerous which made the licensing chiefs step in and cancel it, the Daily Star reported.

Rachel Strong of Feminist Friends said that the references were an unpleasant way of describing women as the words are used by abusers to de-humanize women and to minimize and excuse abuse and assault of women.
