Minister of State (MoS) for Home Kiren Rijiju on Monday confirmed that Sunday's bomb blast in Bangalore, in which a woman was killed and three others were injured, was a terror attack and added that the case might be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further probe.

"Security and alertness needs to be enhanced. This was definitely a terror attack. The police are investigating, but there is a possibility that it will be convenient for the NIA to take over the Bangalore case. Home Minister Rajnath Singh needs to take the decision," said Rijiju.

Earlier, Rijiju had spoken to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the attack and had assured every kind of assistance to the state.

A woman was killed and three others were injured on Sunday night in an explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in front of a famed Bengaluru restaurant.

The blast occurred around 8.30 p.m. near the Coconut Grove restaurant on Bangalore's Church Street.

Meanwhile, the security has been beefed up in New Delhi following the incident.
