A Malaysia Airlines plane with 166 people aboard made an emergency landing in Kuala Lumpur early on Monday after one of its tyres burst.
Flight MH192, bound for Bangalore, had to return to Kuala Lumpur after it was discovered that a tyre had burst on take-off, news24.com quoted an airline statement, as saying.
The airline statement said that as safety was of utmost priority to the company, the flight was asked to return to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The plane landed safely at 1.56 a.m. local time, nearly four hours after it took off. All 159 passengers and seven crew members on board are safe and have been removed from the aircraft.
The airline said tyre debris found on the runway had led to the decision to bring the Boeing 737-800 aircraft back.
Malaysia Airline is still reeling from the loss and presumed crash of flight MH370, which disappeared March 8 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
