Bangladesh recorded a first ever 3-0 Test series win as they defeated Zimbabwe by 186 runs in Chittagong.
It was only their third series success and seventh individual Test win since they first played Test cricket in 2000.
Zimbabwe began the final day with a 378 deficit to win and nine wickets in hand but lost their last two in the final over before tea and were 262 all out. Bangladesh had won the first match of the series by three wickets in Mirpur and the second by 162 runs in Khulna, The BBC reported.
Bangladesh had won their first Test in 2005 at the 35th attempt when Zimbabwe had been again the opponents, also in Chittagong. They went on to win that Test series 1-0.
Their only victories not against the Zimbabweans came in a 2-0 whitewash in the Caribbean in 2009, when West Indies fielded a severely weakened side because their first-choice players were on strike because of a pay dispute.
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim said that right from the start they believed they could win it by 3-0.
