A senior Bangladesh government official is expected to face administrative and legal action after being captured on camera taking bribes from job seekers in Dhaka.
The video clip shows Md Shahidul Haque, controller at Dhaka office of the Office of Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (CCI&E) under the commerce ministry, bargaining with job seekers, counting money and putting it in his pockets, The Daily Star has reported.
Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, a senior commerce ministry secretary, said a report will be submitted to a probe committee based on footage acquired on the bribe taking episodes. Haque is expected to be suspended from his post if found guilty.
