50 Cent, who recently declared bankruptcy after losing a multi-million dollar law suit from Rick Ross' baby mama, is now breaking his silence as the rapper claims that he became a target because he's successful.

The 40-year-old rapper, who claimed that both his assets and liabilities accounted to 10 million to 50 million dollars, said that he was taking precautions that any other good businessperson would take in this situation, reported E! Online.

He added that success often leads to the person becoming a target and he didn't want to be the bull's eyes as he didn't want anyone to pick him as a guy that they just come to with astronomical claims and go through all that.

The 'Candy Shop' hit-maker further said that even Walt Disney and Donald Trump have filed bankruptcy, it meant reorganising finances and it does stop things from moving forward.

It is being said that the father of two filed bankruptcy on July 12 after a jury awarded Lavonia Leviston with five million dollars after determining that the rapper intentionally leaked a sex tape in order to embarrass Ross.
