Actor Ben Affleck has completed the first 30 days of his stay at rehab for his struggle against alcoholism.
The actor is "doing much better" after completing 30 days and will likely continue his treatment by staying longer, a source told People.
The 46-year-old star has been staying at the Malibu treatment facility, his ex-wife Jennifer Garner took him to the facility last month and his mom Chris has been staying at Garner's home since then.
"He is doing much better but needs to continue receiving care. As difficult as it was to have his recent trip to rehab all play out so publicly, it now seems the way it happened was for the best," a source told People.
The insider also added, "Ben seems to take this rehab visit more seriously. This time is different. He doesn't want his kids to have to go through this again. Ben is really trying very hard to get better. He is taking things day by day, but it seems he plans on staying at the treatment center for at least a couple of more weeks."
Ben has been quite vocal about the ordeal. A source told US Weekly that getting help "is all that matters to him right now."
"Ben is not shy about his issues around addiction, particularly since he made that conversation public," the source further explained.
While Affleck is still struggling with his addiction, he recently settled his divorce case with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, last month, after three long years. Affleck has three children with Garner- Violet (12), Seraphina (9), and Samuel (6).
The two-time Oscar winner entered rehab for the third time in August and has been under treatment since then. He first went to rehab in 2001, following which, in 2017, he announced that he had overcome alcohol addiction. However, in December last year, he had once again visited rehab.
The 'Argo' actor is permitted to leave the facility during the day and keeps visiting his Los Angeles home.
