A.C. Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has slammed former striker Mario Balotelli and declared that he is pleased that the 'rotten apple' is no longer in the Italian club's dressing room.

Italy striker Balotelli left the San Siro in August, joining Liverpool in a 16 million pounds move, following 30 goals in 54 games for Milan.

However the outspoken Berlusconi has claimed that the former Manchester City forward was signed against his wishes and that he's glad that Balotelli has returned to the Premier League, The Mirror reported.

The former Italian Prime Minister revealed that he remembers Balotelli was bought against his advice. He added that Milan now has many champions like Jeremy Menez, Keisuke Honda, Stephan El Shaarawy, Fernando Torres and Nigel de Jong, etc.

Berlusconi said that the base is there and they no longer have a rotten apple in the dressing room.
