Former soccer player Bhaichung Bhutia who is contesting in the upcoming elections as Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate launched his poll campaign in a unique way by playing football to strike a chord with the voters in run-up to the elections.
Bhutia said that he was hopeful of TMC's victory considering the immense response he has been receiving during his campaigns.
"Here a match was going on; I came here to wish the players. I wanted to play with them as I am a football player, but I have a lot of meetings to attend, so I just wanted to meet people and the players
I have been received great response, you may have seen here as well. It has been beyond my expectations, and by God's grace, Trinamool Congress will win," he said.
People were left spell bounded by Bhutia's soccer skills which he showcased. Bhutia who is contesting elections from Darjeeling constituency has been campaigning extensively. He also addressed a rally.
