Bihar AAP leader says Kejriwal and company promoting culture of selfishness and individualism

The head of the Bihar unit of the Aam Aadmi Party, Basant Kumar Chowdhary, has accused the current AAP national leadership of promoting a culture of individualism and selfishness, which violates the original tenets on which the AAP was conceived.

In a statement issued here today, Chowdhary, who is the convener of the AAP Campaign Committee in Bihar, said, "Today, there is lot of individualism in the party. Selfish people have taken the place of internal democracy. There is a felony being committed in the name of discussion. Baseless and false allegations are being made. Without examining the truth, a plot is being made to remove Prashant (Bhushan) and Yogendra (Yadav) from the party. The party is moving towards its end with great speed."

He further went on to say that the present AAP leadership led by Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had sold dozens of tickets to corrupt people.

"Tickets were given to traitors and liquor mafias. Arvind Kejriwal and his camp stopped talking about Swaraj. Now, the talks are focused on strong leadership. Internal democracy and staying away from corrupt wealth has been rendered meaningless. These were the basic reasons behind the differences with Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav," Chowdhary said.

Targetting Sisodia, Chowdhary said, "Recently, after swearing-in at Delhi, without talking to anybody and especially with the people of Bihar, he announced that they would not contest the elections there. Are we, the volunteers, innocent kids? Can't we take the right decisions? Reality is that in each of the states, they want to give leadership to their picks/favorites so that words like internal democracy and Swaraj are not used at all."

"With time, Arvind Kejriwal and his small group have started understanding that elements like internal democracy, Swaraj, true loyalty, etc. may be a hindrance in forming the government, and they would not be able to rule the way they want to. In June - July 2014, despite Prashant Bhushan's advice, he didn't change his person-centric and autocratic behavior. His vision has been limited to Delhi," he added.
