Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dubbed the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar as an event to free the state from 'jungle-raj' and an arrogant government.
"This election is about making Bihar free from 'jungle raj' and an arrogant government. I can see that the people of Bihar have decided upon two things. First is the development of Bihar and second is change," Prime Minister Modi said at his mega 'parivartan' rally in Gaya.
"The number of people has doubled in Gaya from the last time when I came to the city during the Lok Sabha polls. The increase in numbers shows which way the wind is blowing," he added.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Bihar had contributed tremendously towards the country's development.
"They have been ruling Bihar for 25 years. If this goes on for five more years, the state will be destroyed. Bihar has contributed the most in country's development. We see a Bihari IAS officer in almost every corner of the country," he said.
"I am here to request you to let me return all the love I received during the Lok Sabha polls with development," added the Prime Minister.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the administration for the rally.
Prime Minister Modi had visited Bihar earlier on July 25 where he shared the stage with Nitish Kumar in Patna and addressed a rally in Muzaffarpur. (ANI)
The BJP, which along with its allies had won 31 of the 40 seats in Bihar in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, is set for a battle against a united Janata Parivar comprising of the JD (U) and RJD.
