Billie Lourd admits it's 'impossible to deal' after losing mom, grandmother

Billie Lourd had to face the worst time of her life when she lost her "beloved" mother and grandmother within one day of each other.

The only daughter and granddaughter of late legendary Hollywood actresses Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds opened up about the pain of losing both of them pass away so suddenly.

During an appearance on the 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' the 25-year-old actress told Ellen about the hardships of adjusting to life without her mom and grandmother admitting "it's completely surreal," and adding "there's no way to really explain it."

Further continuing, "And if I say that I'm not doing good, then I'm a mess. So it's really hard to know what to say about it because it is just so surreal and impossible to deal with."

Despite the painful ordeal, the actress talked about the special experience she had with her late mother while filming 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' her first movie break.

Opening up she said, "I'm a big believer of things happening for a reason and I think I ended up on that movie for a reason,"

"It was really incredible for us to get to have that experience together," Lourd said.

She also revealed how her mother suggested that she should further pursue acting after seeing her daughter perform.

Recounting that day after the shoot when she went back home and her mother told her, "You know, this is really weird that you're comfortable here. This is one of the most uncomfortable environments in the world. If you're comfortable here, you should do this."

The 60-year old 'Star Wars' actress died of cardiac arrest on December 27, four days after experiencing a medical emergency during a transatlantic flight from London to Los Angeles.

While Fisher's mother Reynolds died the following day after suffering a stroke on December 28.

Lourd is currently starring on the latest installment of his horror anthology series 'American Horror Story: Cult.
