BJP on Sunday alleged that CPI (M) leaders attacked the party's Yuva Morcha workers and set one car and around 20 motorcycles on fire.

"CPI(M) earlier in the day attacked our workers. The BJP Yuva Morcha workers were campaigning for the Panchayat election campaign," Tripura Deputy Speaker Biswabandhy Sen.

"CPI (M) elected leaders attacked us and burnt our car and 20 motorcycles. Our injured workers have been sent to a hospital," he added.

The police reached the spot immediately after getting information about the violence.

"We got to know about some violence in the region and we came to check the situation here and found out that there was a burnt vehicle. Investigation in the matter is underway," Rajesh Suredhar SDPO Dharamnagar.
