The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into former Bihar Urban Development and Housing Minister Awadhesh Kushwaha's sting operation and alleged that several other ministers of the JD (U)-led government were also involved in the case.

Kushwaha was caught on video in a sting operation while taking money from a businessman and promising to help him after returning to power.

"Awadhesh ji has mentioned (in sting video) that there are 4-5 more ministers involved, he also speaks to one of the ministers. We want to know who those other ministers are who are giving assurance that they would help if voted to power. He is talking to one of the ministers over phone. This is like selling Bihar," BJP leader Sushil Modi told media here.

"Nitish Kumar knows about it. His entire ministry is embroiled in corruption. Several departments are talking money from suppliers and several IAS officers are involved. Although Election Commission is probing the issue, we want the CBI should investigate the matter. If Nitish has any morality left then he should ask CBI to probe the matter," he added.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission today ordered the District Magistrate to probe into the alleged sting tape, which showed the minister accepting bribe.
